District wise result of West Bengal Higher Secondary Examination

In 2011 result of Higher Secondary examination in West Bengal is very poor. Only 76.54% students passed the exam. This is 4.24% lower than last year. Total 5,33,211 students sat on the exam and 1,25,091 students could not qualify. Its about 1 out every 4 student failed this time. 38,543 students (7.23%) failed in all 6 (5 compulsory, 1 optional) subjects. 51,090 student failed in 1 subject and 43,247 student failed in 2 subjects.

Surprisingly rate of pass for girls increased 1.9% if compared to last year, and for boys it decreased 4.24% from last year.
Kolkata has the highest rate of pass in H.S. exam. 87.82% students from Kolkata passed 12th in 2011. Next Kolkata Purba Medinipur got 87.05% passing rate and Hoogly has 83.97% passing rate. Koochbihar has the lowest passing rate of only 64.18%. Jalpaiguri has 64.46% and Maldah has 65.06% passed student.
