On 13th March 2011 CPIM left front announced their candidates list for upcoming assembly election in West Bengal. There are several important changes in the list from last election. Here is a detailed review of their list. They announced 292 candidate’s name out of 294. This time CPIM made an alliance with nine other parties, that includes

- RSP Revolutionary Socialist Party
- CPI Communist Party Of India
- SP Samajwadi Party
- MFB
- RCPI
- DSP
- RJD Rashtriya Janata Dal

In this alliance CPI(M) holds 71.9% i.e. 210 seats out of 292(2 seats are not declared yet).
FB is at number two with 11.6% (32) seats, RSP is at number three with 7.9% (23) seats, CPI is at number four with 4.1% (12) seats, SP stands at number five with 1.7% (5) seats. MFB, RCPI and DSP holds 0.7% (2) seats each. RJD and BBC has only 0.3% (1) seats each.
Male Female ratio in the list is quite low as CPIM said that they would reserve 30% of seats for women in Panchayets, but here it is only about 15.8%. CPIM has 19.5% woman candidates and FB has 11.8% woman candidates in their list.
As for ratio candidates by cast, it is quite for Muslim and other minority communities. A total of 25.3% candidates are from minor communities. But there are some opinions that this minority candidates are given those seats where they (CPIM) can’t win.

This time the alliance has surprisingly 51%(149) new candidates where last time it was 45.6%(134). CPIM has 52.4% (110) new candidates, FB has 47.1% (16) new candidates this time.
