The Lasso Tool(keyboard shortcut L) in Photoshop is a free form selection tool. It can be used to make any complex or rough selections. Photoshop has three types of Lasso tools, Normal Lasso Tool, Polygonal Lasso Tool, Magnetic Lasso Tool.
Before we start lets have a look at some common properties and options that all three Lasso Tools have.
The lasso tools have options similar to Photoshop basic selection tools. You can add, subtract or intersect with selections you made.
The Father option allows you to blur the edges of your selection. The more value in the box the more blur.
- Standard Lasso Tool is used to draw any king of selection you need. But making complex and accurate selection is very hard with this tool because you have to do all within one single mouse click.

- Polygonal Lasso Tool is easier and gives accurate selection. Click and release then go to another point and click and release again, do this until you cover the thing you need to select. This tool will draw a straight line from one click to another click. To end selection you may double click or click on the starting point of the selection.
