Ahmadabad is the biggest city in the state with a population of 55,70,585 peoples. [2] After Ahmadabad, Surat has the second highest population of 44,62,002 peoples in the state. Vadodara and Rajkot are another 2 cities having population over a million in Gujarat. Amreli, Deesa & Gondal are 3 least populated cities having population over one lakh each in the state.

Sex ratio of cities in the state Gujarat

Female sex ratio in Gujarat is 918 females per 1000 males which are far below than national average of 940. Veraval in Junagadh district have the highest among cities female sex ratio of just 966. There are only two more cities with female sex ration of above 950 in the state. Those are Junagadh in Junagadh district and Valsad in Valsad district. Surat has the lowest female sex ratio in the state of just 758 females per 100 males. 6 other cities i.e. Gandhidham, Kalol, Bhuj, Deesa and Mahesana have female sex ratio under 900.
